Not advice

This website provides general educational information only. It does not provide financial, tax, legal, or medical advice, and it does not make recommendations about specific insurance products, carriers, or plans.

No government affiliation

This site is not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program. Information about Medicare here is educational and is not a substitute for official government resources.

Health coverage and the Marketplace

Eligibility for Marketplace coverage and for premium tax credits is determined by the Health Insurance Marketplace based on household income, household size, state, and other factors — not by this site or its tools.

Pricing and quotes

This site does not present carrier premiums unless it is working from legitimate rate data. Where figures are illustrative planning estimates rather than quotes, the page says so directly. Actual premiums depend on carrier underwriting, state availability, health history, medications, tobacco status, build, and other factors.

Illustrative cost assumptions

Default cost figures used by the calculators — such as funeral-related costs or long-term care costs — are illustrative planning figures, not averages or guarantees. Every calculator shows the assumptions it used so you can change them.

Educational Protection Score

This educational score is based solely on the answers you provided and is not an insurance underwriting decision or financial recommendation. It is not an industry-standard insurance score and is not used by any carrier for underwriting.

How results are selected

The assessment evaluates the answers you provide — age, income, dependents, savings, existing coverage, retirement concerns, and long-term-care concerns — against published screening criteria, then suggests which area may be worth looking at first and which others may also be worth reviewing.

  • Health / ACA — Ages approximately 18–60 with lower or moderate income, or without affordable health coverage.
  • Life insurance — Ages approximately 18–55 with dependents or income that others rely upon.
  • Final expense — Ages approximately 50–80 with limited savings or concerns about funeral costs.
  • Long-term care — Ages approximately 55 and older who are concerned about nursing-home or long-term-care expenses.
  • Annuities / retirement income — Ages approximately 55 and older with accumulated retirement savings and concerns about retirement income.

These routing rules are educational screening criteria only. They do not determine eligibility, underwriting, suitability, insurance availability, tax treatment, or financial recommendations.
